Predicting Sugarcane Harvest Date and Productivity with a Drone-Borne Tri-Band SAR

چکیده
This article presents a novel method for predicting the sugarcane harvesting date and productivity using three-band imaging radar. Taking advantage of working with multi-band radar, this system was employed to estimate above-ground biomass (AGB), achieving root-mean-square error (RMSE) 2 kg m−2 in crops, which is an unprecedented result compared other works based on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) system. By correlating field measurements ripening index (RI) AGB by indirect RI radar obtained. It observed that reaches its maximum approximately 280 days after planting RI, defines date, 360 species IACSP97-4039. Starting from map collected it then possible predict corresponding competitive average errors 8 10.7%, respectively, three months advance, whereas typical methods test site achieve 30 advance. To best our knowledge, first time prediction crops.

Sugarcane Harvest Logistics in Brazil
Sugar mills in Brazil represent significant capital investments. To maintain appropriate returns on their investment, sugar companies seek to run the mills at capacity over the entire nine months of the sugarcane harvest season. Because the sugar content of cane degrades considerably once it is cut, maintaining inventories of cut cane is undesirable. Instead, mills want to coordinate the arriva...
متن کاملMapping of Rice Varieties and Sowing Date Using X-Band SAR Data
Rice is a major staple food for nearly half of the world's population and has a considerable contribution to the global agricultural economy. While spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data have proved to have great potential to provide rice cultivation area, few studies have been performed to provide practical information that meets the user requirements. In rice growing regions where the...

A laboratory in situ composting study was conducted as a possible alternative method for the current practice of open air burning of post-harvest sugarcane residue by sugarcane farmers. In situ composting of the sugarcane residue by the indigenous bacteria and fungi was accelerated using molasses as an initial substrate. A one-time application of molasses boosted the soil microbial population. ...
متن کاملSucrose Accumulation and Harvest Schedule Recommendations for CP Sugarcane Cultivars
Sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) is harvested during a 5-month period (October to March) in the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) of south Florida. The genetic and temporal variability of sugarcane sucrose concentration is well established, but sucrose accumulation curves have not been reported for the Canal Point (CP) clones used in Florida since 1977. The objective of this study was to compare suc...
